Aston Martin has unveiled three high-performance vehicles, solidifying its commitment to integrating motorsport technologies into its road cars. The trio includes the AMR24 Formula 1 challenger, the new Vantage sports car, and the Vantage GT3 racer, showcasing Aston Martin's racing heritage and its pursuit of excellence on both road and track.
The new Vantage, presented on the same day as the AMR24 Formula 1 challenger's debut on the tarmac, signifies the epitome of Aston Martin's sports cars. Engineered for real drivers, the Vantage boasts authentic, unadulterated performance, aiming to deliver maximum thrills with confidence.
The Vantage shares a historic connection with Silverstone, having been introduced in the year of the first World Championship Formula One race at the iconic circuit in 1950. The Vantage's 74-year history aligns seamlessly with the legacy of Silverstone, which is now Aston Martin's home at the cutting-edge AMR Technology Campus.
Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, the expert drivers for the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, will helm the AMR24 Formula 1 challenger as they seek to build on the team's impressive 2023 season, where they claimed nine podiums and amassed 280 Championship points.
Between the road and track siblings, the Vantage GT3 racer holds a unique position, inspired by its production counterpart and set to compete in prestigious endurance events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024. The Vantage GT3 builds upon the success of its predecessor, the Vantage GTE, which secured 52 class wins and 11 world titles between 2012 and 2023.
Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, emphasised the symbolic unveiling of the three high-performance vehicles on the same day. He stated, 'These three brothers in speed embroider our DNA with new dynamism, demonstrating our ambition to be a leading force in F1 and create the world’s finest and most thrilling sports cars.'
Stroll highlighted the growing synergy between Aston Martin's road and race programs, leveraging the engineering talent, experience, and knowledge cultivated in Formula One through Aston Martin Performance Technologies. The transformative impact of Formula 1 on Aston Martin's brand has attracted new customers and contributed to the reappraisal of their products.
The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is set to kick off the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship season at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2, 2024. The simultaneous unveiling of the AMR24 Formula 1 challenger, Vantage sports car, and Vantage GT3 racer underscores Aston Martin's commitment to pushing the boundaries of high-performance engineering and innovation.
