Aston Martin has officially launched the new Vanquish in India, marking the return of one of its most iconic nameplates. With a starting ex-showroom price of INR 8.85 crore, the Vanquish combines ultra-luxury styling, cutting-edge technology and the most powerful V12 engine the marque has produced in a production car.
The Vanquish is powered by a newly re-engineered 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 824 bhp and 1000 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 345 kmph. This makes it the fastest Aston Martin series production car to date. The engine, which underwent a complete redesign from the block to the cylinder heads, features new reduced-inertia turbochargers and repositioned spark plugs for improved combustion efficiency. A new 'Boost Reserve' function enables the turbos to pre-load pressure during partial throttle use, allowing for immediate power delivery during overtaking or rapid acceleration. The performance is further enhanced by Valvoline-supplied high-performance engine oil and a larger oil cooler, supporting higher heat rejection and consistent engine pressure.
Paired with the V12 is a rear-mounted 8-speed ZF automatic transmission integrated with an electronic rear limited slip differential (e-diff). Unlike conventional mechanical systems, this e-diff can transition from open to fully locked in 135 milliseconds, improving low-speed agility and high-speed stability. The car’s final drive ratio is optimised at 2.93:1 for achieving its record-breaking top speed. The transmission calibration has also been refined to deliver faster shifts and a more engaging driving feel.
The bonded aluminium chassis has been extended with an 80mm longer wheelbase and reinforced underbody components. Lateral stiffness has been increased by 75 percent over the previous flagship, the DBS 770 Ultimate. The new Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers feature bespoke calibration, allowing for a wider bandwidth between comfort and performance modes. Five selectable drive modes—Wet, Sport, Sports Plus, Track and Individual—alter drivetrain, steering and suspension calibrations to suit varying road and driver conditions.
Braking performance is supported by carbon ceramic brakes, with 410mm discs at the front and 360mm at the rear, reducing unsprung mass by 27kg. The braking system includes advanced features like Integrated Brake Slip Control and Corner Braking 2.0, enabling shorter stopping distances and improved cornering stability. Additional safety and driver assistance features include Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and a 360-degree camera system.
Visually, the Vanquish maintains Aston Martin’s hallmark styling with a new design language marked by longer proportions and flowing lines. It features a full carbon fibre body, panoramic glass roof, signature side strakes and a Kamm tail for aerodynamic efficiency. Matrix LED headlamps introduce the brand’s new light signature, while the rear-end houses floating design panels and LED light blades inspired by the Valkyrie.
The 21-inch forged alloy wheels come fitted with bespoke Pirelli P ZERO tyres for summer and winter conditions, both featuring Pirelli Noise Cancelling System technology for improved in-cabin refinement. Dynamic handling is further enhanced by a recalibrated EPAS system and a non-isolated steering column for better feedback.
The Vanquish features a two-seat layout with Sports Plus seats as standard and optional carbon fibre Performance seats. A 10.25-inch digital TFT driver display and touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and in-house developed software form the tech centrepiece. The infotainment system is supported by a connected Aston Martin app for vehicle monitoring and remote access. An integrated Bowers & Wilkins 15-speaker surround sound system comes as standard. Physical buttons remain for essential functions like drive selection and exhaust mode, preserving a tactile, driver-focused experience.
Buyers can extensively personalise their Vanquish through the Q by Aston Martin programme, with options ranging from custom paints and materials to titanium exhausts and unique trim finishes. The car’s exterior and interior finishes offer numerous configurations including satin carbon fibre packs, quilted leather headliners, and metal fibre carbon trims.
