Ashok Leyland has signed a MoU with Shriram Automall India to launch an exclusive hybrid ecosystem for its used commercial vehicle business. 

The coming together of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and the country’s leading marketplace connecting pre-owned vehicles & equipment buyers and sellers, through a phygital platform will facilitate an exchange and proper disposal and purchase of old commercial vehicles, said the companies. 

Through this new association, Ashok Leyland aims to streamline the used vehicle market by leveraging its digital ecosystem, its existing and potential channel partners for physical interactions in over 100 Automalls spread across the country, and other advanced technologies. 

Customers are expected to have access to various digital solutions offered by Ashok Leyland, such as iALERT telematics solution, Driver SAATHi skilling solution, valuation, breakdown services, fuel solutions, among others. 

As per the agreement, SAMIL will provide its online, offline auction platforms to all potential buyers approaching dealers of Ashok Leyland to sell their used vehicles and purchase new vehicles with quick turnaround time, best resale value and hassle free processes. Customers can also avail the value benefits of allied services like parking, logistics, trade finance & insurance from SAMIL, which makes the asset procurement process simpler, said SAMIL in a release.

“With our aspirations to be an end-to-end mobility solutions provider, this partnership will help establish our presence in the pre-owned commercial vehicle segment,” said Sanjay Saraswat, Head – MHCV, Ashok Leyland.

In addition, this initiative will also help in implementation of the scrappage policy at the grassroot level and help us move towards a greener future.
