Ashok Leyland has entered into a partnership with FlixBus India to enhance India’s intercity bus transportation by introducing innovative and efficient high-capacity vehicles. The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was signed by Mohan K, Head of the Bus Vertical at Ashok Leyland, Max Zeumer, Chief Operating Officer of FlixBus, and Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India. The partnership allows FlixBus’s operating partner’s access to Ashok Leyland’s chassis and after-sales support, enhancing operational efficiency across the nation.
Ashok Leyland’s Managing Director and CEO, Shenu Agarwal, stated “Our products are designed to offer industry-leading total cost of ownership, ensuring profitability for our customers while delivering outstanding customer experiences.” Surya Khurana added “This partnership strengthens our goal of offering efficient, high-capacity travel solutions while empowering local operators with advanced technology.”
Since its entry into the Indian market, FlixBus India has seen substantial growth, with over 300,000 passengers and a sixfold increase in revenue within the first six months of operations. The service, initially launched in South India, currently connects major cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. FlixBus plans to expand its network further, increasing its fleet size to serve more regions across India.
