BillionE Group places order for 180 electric trucks, marking a major move in commercial EV adoption.


Ashok Leyland Begins Delivery mobility outlook

Ashok Leyland has commenced the delivery of its AVTR 55T Electric Tractor and BOSS Electric Trucks to Billion Electric Mobility, a member of the BillionE Group. The delivery includes 180 electric trucks, comprising the BOSS Electric Truck and AVTR 55T Electric Tractor, which are expected to enhance BillionE’s mid-mile electric truck platform.

Shenu Agarwal, MD and CEO of Ashok Leyland, stated “We are proud to partner with BillionE Group as we begin delivering our AVTR 55T Electric Tractor and BOSS ICV Electric trucks. Both platforms are packed with advanced features and offer superior performance and total cost of ownership (TCO).” He further highlighted that the BOSS Electric is the first and only electric truck in India’s intermediate commercial vehicle (ICV) segment, while the AVTR 55T is the first 4x2 electric tractor offered by an Indian manufacturer.

Kartikey Hariyani expressed optimism about the partnership, noting, “As we continue to build our integrated mid-mile Electric Truck Platform through BillionE and ChargeZone, we are thankful to Ashok Leyland for delivering these advanced electric vehicles. This marks a major step towards creating a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.”

The newly delivered vehicles come equipped with features such as battery packs designed with IP67 protection against water and dust, ensuring reliability in various conditions. They also include Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety and dual-gun charging capabilities to facilitate quicker recharges using the widely adopted CCS2 standard.
