World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp and the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) have joined hands to bridge the digital skills gap in auto dealerships and build their capacity in this critical growth driver.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organisations, the partnership aims to offer dealership staff training with Hero MotoCorp in an Apprenticeship Model.
It will also enhance ASDC’s capacity and capabilities in providing a variety of learning modules and certifications for automotive servicing and curriculum building along with faculty training to meet global standards. Hero MotoCorp will provide the content of the digital Learning programme.
Both ASDC and Hero MotoCorp will focus on bridging the supply gap of skilled workers in the automotive industry and help in the fulfilment of manpower requirement across the country. The programme will further enable all the candidates to develop relevant skills on futuristic vehicles such as xEVs, and become self-reliant, “thereby, empowering the youth for a brighter future and at the same time fulfilling the broader vision of Skill India”.
It is important that the younger generation of the country put in their hearts into the jobs they are performing in addition to their hands and minds, said Nikunj Sanghi, President, ASDC. “This alone will bring in the sense of pride in what they are doing, leading to high quality performance, which is critical in leading the country to a leadership position in the world of manufacturing.”
Naveen Chauhan, Head of Sales and After Sales, Hero MotoCorp said, “Through this strategic partnership, we will work with ASDC to upskill and reskill the workforce in the automotive industry. The industry has witnessed the advent of new technologies in the recent past and this trend will continue in the future as well.”
He further said there will be an increased demand for skilled manpower in the industry, and to meet this demand, the gap between the skills available and skill required will have to be bridged. “We are happy to make a contribution in this process and empower the youth of the country,” Chauhan said.
