As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations in Chennai, Ashok Leyland unveiled the leV series electric light commercial vehicles from Switch Mobility, its electric arm.
The new offering presents an attractive value proposition for MSMEs, cottage industries, and e-commerce in India with its exceptionally low total cost of ownership and commitment to high uptime.
Ashok Leyland also showcased its new, nine metre, hydrogen fuel-cell electric bus developed for National Thermal Power Corporation in collaboration with Reliance Industries.
Mahesh Babu, Chief Executive Officer, Switch Mobility, said the IeV series marked a defining moment for the company which had established a strong reputation in the e-bus market.
“The IeV series is a testament of our dedication to driving positive change in the industry,” he added.

As part of its 75th-anniversary celebrations, Ashok Leyland also launched a new initiative - ‘Dream Drive’ - a journey across the length and breadth of the country, with ten of its vehicles driven on five different routes, culminating at its plants.
Through this, Ashok Leyland engaged with its extensive network of customers, dealers, suppliers, and other partners, establishing a direct connection with drivers, mechanics and financiers.
‘Manzil ka Safar’ with the Stallion defence vehicles was another drive that travelled 4000+ km from Kanyakumari to Leh to recognise the company's long-standing partnership with the Indian defence forces.
