In a bid to offer a BE programme in automobile engineering with a specialisation in electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chitkara University, Punjab.

This arrangement will give a chance for the aspirants to learn all the fundamentals of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles in the first two and a half years at Chitkara University. The students will then go to ARAI Academy in Pune, where they will be taught about the latest technologies. There, as per ARAI, will also be hands-on practical exposure in the next one and a half years. The last two semesters will be devoted to project work, which shall be carried out either in the automotive industry or at ARAI Academy.
