The demand for the Aprilia RS 457 outstrips supply. The Italian manufacturer did not anticipate it and considering the fact it makes the bike for both Indian and global markets, the waiting period in India has gone up to two months. The company is currently making close to 50 units a day at its Baramati factory by operating three shifts.
The Aprilia RS 457 has been selling in good numbers in South and West India. The figures in the North and the East aren’t as big since the supply is comparatively less and it is expected to increase with time.
The Aprilia RS 457 brings a lot to the table for the Rs 4.10 lakh ex-showroom that it asks. Its design, features and engine apart, its performance and easy handling is what has clicked with the enthusiasts. The bike is powered by a 457cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 46.9bhp and 43.5Nm.
Since it is made in India, it enjoys a significant price advantage over its CBU import competitors. The Yamaha R3 is priced at Rs 4.64 lakh while the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom. Besides the price, the Aprilia RS457 is also the better equipped motorcycle which again drives its value quotient higher than the Japanese bikes.
