Aprilia RS 457 Makes Indian Debut

Developed at Aprilia’s headquarters in Noale, Italy, and is being tested extensively at Baramati, Maharashtra, RS 457 will be available with an aggressive price tag against its rivals.

Piaggio Vehicles unveiled the Aprilia RS 457 for the Indian market bringing MotoGP technology for riders at a competitive price. The twin-cylinder lightweight sportbike has been designed with the bike maker's race learnings from its MotoGP triumphs. The company wants to bring and develop the racing culture in India with its products, and a developing dealer network.

Delivering 48 bhp of maximum power and a sophisticated ride-by-wire throttle, the engine performance is adjustable to three levels. With an aluminium alloy frame, the motorcycle weighs 175 kg making it one of the best power-to-weight ratios in its class. The crankcase is a load-bearing element, technique borrowed from the RS 660, enhances its handling prowess.

Diego Graffi, CEO, Piaggio India, said, “No better occasion to unveil the RS 457 when for the first time MotoGP is being held in India. We will introduce the real culture of superbike in India and create more and more passion for fun riding. Pre-bookings for the RS 457 will open very soon”.

The full-LED front headlamp is reminiscent of larger Aprilia motorcycles reminding buyers of the Italian design language. Equipment levels are high as well distinguishing it as a premium exotic motorcycle.

Michele Colaninno, CEO, Piaggio Group states that this burst of renewal from the brand is supported by continued progress in the racing world. The introduction of the RS 457 is a step closer to the globalisation of the brand that has always had the perfect combination of technology, fun and looking to the future in its DNA.
