Altair Names Cimatron mobility outlook

Altair has announced that it has appointed Cimatron as its new global channel partner. This partnership is set to expand the reach of Altair's design and simulation solutions within the Altair HyperWorks platform, which includes specialised tools like Altair Inspire Mould and Altair Inspire Form. These tools are designed to enhance injection moulding and metal forming processes, offering innovative solutions that aim to transform the manufacturing industry by introducing more efficient and precise design methods.

Pavan Kumar, Senior Vice President of Global Indirect Business at Altair, stated that by joining forces with Cimatron, Altair aims to strengthen its position in the manufacturing sector, providing advanced simulation tools that could streamline production and improve product quality.

Dan Marinac, Acting President of Cimatron, highlighted the growing demand from their customers for modern tools that help validate tool designs. He stressed that reducing the time and cost associated with physical tryouts is a priority for manufacturers. The integration of Altair's technology with Cimatron’s existing solutions will boost productivity and lead to the creation of higher quality products across all manufacturing sectors. The collaboration will allow manufacturers to digitally simulate and explore design alternatives, helping to predict and prevent common manufacturing defects such as warpage, cracks, and surface defects. This capability is expected to save time and resources while increasing overall efficiency.

Cimatron has a long history in the global mould, tool, and die business, providing CAD/CAM software solutions since its founding in 1982. The company's expertise in mould and die making, as well as milling and turning, combined with Altair’s simulation technology, is expected to deliver benefits to toolmakers and manufacturers.
