Volvo India has launched its first EV in India, XC 40 Recharge at INR 55.90 lakh ex-showroom India, making it expensive by about INR 11 lakh more than the ICE counterpart.
Only available in the ‘Twin’ trim levels, the e-SUV gets powered by a 78kWh battery and propelled by two motors placed at each axle producing 408hp and 660Nm of torque.
With a 150kW DC fast charging the EV can be topped up from 10% to 80% in 33 minutes. On a more easily accessible 50kW fast charger, the XC 40 Recharge can charge 100 percent in about 2.5 hours.
On the design front the SUV retains the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ DRL signature while changes over the regular ICE model include restyled front bumper design, blanked-out grille and new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels.
There's an exclusive programme for the EV customers called ‘Tre Kronor Experience’ that denotes the three crowns of Swedish luxury and will offer a host of unique luxury and personalised experiences.
On a single charge the EV can cover up to 418 kms (WLTP range).
On the inside it comes with leather free interior along with built-in Google apps including Google Assistant, Google Play, Google Maps, Volvo Car Apps, 600 W 13 speakers Harmon Kardon Premium Sound System, wireless mobile charger and Advanced Air Purifier System with PM 2.5 sensor.
On the safety front it comes with 360-degree camera, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, lane keeping aid, collision mitigation support for both front and rear, parking assistance sensors for front, side and rear and six airbags.
The new XC 40 Recharge is available in five paintwork options including Crystal White, Fjord Blue, Onyx Black, Thunder gray and Sage Green.
