The fast-growing Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) Akasa Air has launched several new routes and increased frequencies from key metro and non-metro destinations. The airline says the growth is fuelled by rapid air travel demand and now offers 200 weekly departures.
The airline has grown rapidly in the past 11 months and is steadily increasing its network connecting metros with Tier 2&3 cities.
Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said the launch of new routes and additional flights would offer customers enhanced air connectivity at affordable prices.
The carrier now offers direct flights between Mumbai and Kolkata, connecting Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Guwahati, totalling 21 weekly flights. It has also increased its frequency between Delhi and Ahmedabad to 2X daily flights.
Akasa Air has increased frequencies from the city to various destinations, including Delhi, Goa and Bengaluru, to 3X, 4X and 8X average daily flights, respectively.
The LCC now connects Mumbai with 12 domestic destinations, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Lucknow, Goa, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Kochi and Guwahati.
