Airbus Acquires DSI Datensicherheit GmbH To Strengthen Cryptography Capabilities

Following a longstanding partnership between the two companies, DSI DS will now be fully owned by the Airbus Defence and Space GmbH and operate under a new name, Aerospace Data Security GmbH.

The defence and aerospace division of Airbus Defence and Space has acquired DSI Datensicherheit GmbH (DSI DS) to strengthen its cryptography capabilities. 

DSI DS is Germany based cryptography and communication systems company for Space, Airborne and Naval & Ground systems and shared a longstanding partnership with Airbus. DSI DS will now be fully owned by the Airbus Defence and Space GmbH and operate under a new name, Aerospace Data Security GmbH. 

According to an Airbus release, the acquisition will further strengthen its cryptography capabilities and enhance the development of end-to-end secured systems.

Andreas Lindenthal, Head, Airbus Space Systems Germany, said that cyber-protection is critically important for any system supporting critical infrastructure and that space-based system are no exception.

“Airbus and DSI DS have a history of partnering on important products and we are excited to continue our success with the start of Aerospace Data Security GmbH,” he concluded.

Based in Bremen, Germany, DSI DS supplies high-end electronics for airborne and space applications and has earned a name for providing future-oriented solutions in engineering, development, manufacture, and qualification of solutions for aircraft electronic equipment and information technology and sophisticated communication systems.
