Air India has announced that it will lease 12 more aircraft to operate on its short, medium and long-haul domestic and international routes. The new aircraft are slated for induction in the first half of 2023.
Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director, Air India, said, “Growing our network is an essential part of Air India’s Vihaan.AI transformational journey and we remain committed to increasing connectivity and frequency of flights both domestically and internationally. These additional aircraft leases will support our near term growth even as we finalise plans to refresh and significantly grow our long-term fleet.”
The 12 aircraft to be taken on lease will add to Air India’s announcement that it would have thirty leased aircraft – 21 Airbus A320, four Airbus A321 and five Boeing B777-200LR widebody aircraft, earlier in the year.

The widebody B777-300 ER will be configured in a four-class layout with First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins. These aircraft will be deployed to connect Indian metro cities, adding even more international destinations to Air India’s network.
