The American multinational semiconductor company, Analog Devices on Friday announced that its Wireless Battery Management System (wBMS) has been certified with ISO/SAE 21434.
According to a press release from the company, the assessment confirmed that ADI performed appropriate assurance measures within the product development to fulfil the CAL-4 requirements.
Introduced first in 2020 in collaboration with General Motors, the technology company has brought technology to mass production as a turnkey solution for vehicle manufacturers with security designed at every level.
The wBMS aims at providing modularity, flexibility, and scalability to streamline the design and assembly processes with connector-free batteries.
Leif-Erik Schulte, Senior Vice President, TÜV NORD Mobilität, said, “This system certification is a key element to build trust across the full electrification ecosystem – from energy storage to OEMs to consumers – to support EV adoption and help reduce emissions.”
Roger Keen, General Manager, Battery Management Systems, Analog Devices, said improving the security and accuracy of EV batteries removes roadblocks in end-users’ buying considerations and advances OEMs’ decisions to expand their EV offerings.
