The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) with the All India Automobile Workshop Association (AIAWA) has announced to collaborate in order to strengthen the independent vehicle service network and their capabilities in the country to tap the growing demand for servicing the out-of-warranty vehicles. Independent aftermarket service centres service about 70% of all the out-of-warranty vehicles on the road.

Action points emerged at the seminar on automotive service trends held at the Auto Expo Components Show 2023, aims at ensuring the supply of auto components. ACMA will support the AIAWA network wherever required, informed Sunjay Kapoor, President, ACMA.

Vikrantt Mohan, President, AIAWA, said that AIAWA network workshops were always willing to explore partnerships with different organisations bringing in diverse experiences and strengths to help organise and strengthen this automotive aftermarket ecosystem.

He also talked about the important role of independent automotive workshops in working alongside the dealer network workshops to service more than 35 million vehicles in the country and the contribution it makes to the Indian economy and its business.

Amit Kumar, Co Founder and CEO, Ramp Global, Shanrohi Technologies noted that digitisation can help in standardisation of all processes and systems thus increasing the efficiency of the independent workshops.
