The 2025 Yamaha MT-09 street naked bike will get the Y-AMT semi-automatic system. The Japanese company confirmed this recently.
The Y-AMT system uses two electronic actuators that replace the clutch lever and foot shifter operations for the rider. The rider can choose between two modes- Manual and Automatic or D and D+.
In D and D+, the system automatically shifts up and down the gears, with the latter used for more sporty and spirited riding.In the manual mode, the rider can select a higher or lower gear using the + and - buttons on the switch cube. Yamaha says that the system is faster than conventional quick shifters.
In the future, Yamaha may also introduce the system in models like the Tracer 9 GT+
