Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has partnered with Exponent Energy to introduce the OSM Stream City Qik, the world’s quickest-charging electric three-wheeler (E3W). Priced at INR 324,999, this ground-breaking vehicle, equipped with Exponent's innovative 8.8 kWh battery pack, can achieve a full charge in just 15 minutes.
The rapid charging capability of the OSM Stream City Qik, facilitated by Exponent’s advanced battery technology, is poised to reduce downtime between trips significantly. This efficiency boost is expected to increase driver earnings by at least 30%, marking a notable shift in the economic dynamics of using electric three-wheelers.
Strategic Expansion Amidst Urbanisation
With Exponent’s network set to expand across major Indian cities, this initiative marks a crucial step towards a more robust EV infrastructure in the country. As urban areas continue to grow, the need for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions becomes ever more critical. The OSM Stream City Qik’s ability to charge quickly ensures that drivers can maximise their time on the road, contributing positively to their livelihoods and urban air quality.
The only question is how fast the patented e-pump charging network can expand to support OSM Stream City Qik’s customers across the nation, beyond just Bangalore. With a price of nearly INR 5 lakh per charger, around 15 charges per day are required to make them profitable entities. So, the more vehicles are sold, the more efficient the network becomes.
