Mahindras To Be Principal Sponsor Of Joburg Super Kings

Joburg Super Kings is a T20 cricket franchise based out of Johannesburg. It is owned by Chennai-based CSLK Ltd., which owns the IPL (Indian Premier League) team, Chennai Super Kings.

The House of Mahindras, a well known name in the Indian automobile space, has decided to sponsor a team in the South Africa T 20 cricket league. It will be the principal sponsor for Joburg Super Kings (JSK).

Joburg Super Kings is a T20 cricket franchise based out of Johannesburg. It is owned by Chennai-based CSLK Ltd., which owns the IPL (Indian Premier League) team, Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings is the five-time winner of IPL. JSK and Mahindra have penned an agreement that will give Mahindra visibility on the back of Joburg Super Kings’ jersey.

“Partnering with the Joburg Super Kings is not just about cricket. It's about investing in the spirit of champions. The Super Kings are a growing global brand with wide popularity across South Africa,' said Rajesh Gupta, CEO Mahindra South Africa, in a communication.

We look forward to a long-standing partnership with Mahindra,' he added.

The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, known as the Bullring, has been the home ground of the Joburg Super Kings . The Wanderers has a rich cricketing history, having hosted numerous high-profile events and contests, including the 2007 T20 World Cup final, which saw India lift its maiden T20 World title, under the leadership of M.S. Dhoni. Chennai Super Kings was one of the semi-finalists in the 2009 IPL held in South Africa and emerged champions in the 2010 Champions League T20 tournament, defeating the Warriors at the Wanderers stadium in the final.
