Tata Motors on Wednesday launched the Tiago EV at INR 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom, India making it the entry point for the brand’s EV portfolio.
The new EV hatchback comes with two lithium-ion battery pack options: a 19.2 kWh lithium-ion pack with an estimated MIDC range of 250 km and a higher IP67-rated 24kWh battery pack that offers 315 km.
The new EV gets four charging options, a 15A plug point, 3.3 kW Home Charger, 7.2kW AC fast charger and 50kW DC fast charger.
Underpinning the Ziptron architecture, the Tiago EV also gets two motor options, 45kW with 110Nm and 55kW with 114Nm of torque. The more powerful is claimed to propel the EV from zero to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds.
The new age hatchback differentiates itself using the company’s signature blue highlight at the front underlining the grille and the headlight, and an ‘EV’ badge on the grille.
The Tiago EV features automatic projector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and electric ORVMs with auto-fold on the exterior.
The Tiago EV gets the Zconnect telematics app which enables 45 connected features like remote AC control, geo-fencing and real-time charge status as standard.
The EV gets leatherette seats, eight speakers Harman infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, four-stage re-gen braking, and push button start/stop as standard.
The new EV is available in teal blue, daytona grey, pristine white, midnight plum and tropical mist.
Open for booking from October 10, 2022, the deliveries for the Tiago EV are expected to start from January 2023.
